Engadget has posted their review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Compared to the Xoom the main differences are:

Galaxy Tab 10.1 is 1/10th of an inch thinner and 4 ounces lighter.
Galaxy Tab has better rear camera (1080p vs 720p).
Xoom has HDMI out, Galaxy Tab needs an accessory to do HDMI out.
Xoom has SD card slot, Galaxy Tab doesn't.

The FCC has posted filing for what appears to be various versions of the Sony S1 android honeycomb tablet.

As well as WiFi only versions of the 9.4" tablet there is a version with WCDMA bands II and V which makes a wireless version for AT&T (USA) and/or Rodgers (Canada) seem likely.

According to Digitimes industry sources the HTC Puccini 10.1" tablet is going into volume production in the next couple of weeks.

The Puccini will likely be a scaled up version of the 7 inch HTC Flyer (but hopefully not as fat as the flyer), and it is rumored to have a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor and Android 3.0.1.

Samsung has confirmed via twitter that their Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet will be released in a few days, they have also announced that it will ship with Android 3.1 already installed.

Everything points to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 being an excellent tablet - android 3.1, thinner than the ipad 2, fast and powerful, the only real question still outstanding is whether it will have a microsd card slot (unlike those handed out to attendees at Google I/O).

PC Magazine has come out with some rumors and speculation concerning Amazon's entry into the Android Tablet market.

Their sources claim there will be both 7 inch and 10 inch tablets released by Christmas with e-ink/lcd versions to follow in 2012 or 2013.

The other new rumor is that they will be powered by a quad-core Tegra processor.

Plex has just announced their their media streaming app for Android has been updated to take advantage of the larger screens of Android 3.0 (honeycomb) Tablets.

With Plex you can stream your movies, music, and TV shows from your PC to your Motorola Xoom/Asus Transformer tablet.

Sprint just announced they will start selling the Motorola Xoom on May 8th..... a phone company selling a tablet without a cellular connection.

Apple has announced that the iPad 2 will be coming to 12 more countries soon, starting with Japan on April 28th, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and in the UAE on April 29th, and China on May 6th.

No sooner had it arrived than it was sold out.

A combination of high demand and low shipment volume means that this highly anticipated tablet will probably be hard to find for at least the next month.

If you want to get your hands on one I suggest looking on Amazon, Target (via Amazon), Best Buy, Newegg, and Walmart..... and if all else fails you can always find one on ebay (where people are currently paying a premium of $100-$200 over MSRP to get their hands on their very own Asus EEE Pad Transformer.

What do you get if you combine the form factor of a netbook with the usability of a tablet pc? the answer is the Asus Eee PC T91, and techradar have posted a review of one.

Here's what they think of it:

Overall, we're impressed with what Asus has done here. Since the introduction of the original Eee PC, manufacturers (Asus included) have desperately tried to tweak netbooks to set themselves apart from the crowd.

The problem is, all these tweaks are too subtle to really register. The Asus Eee PC T91 on the other hand genuinely moves things forward. As long Asus can keep pricing to realistic levels, it deserves to have another winner on its hands.

Well this news is disappointing: according to a couple of websites that contacted Gigabyte their M912 inexpensive tablet PC will be sold in Asia and Europe only.

Do they think that there is no demand in the US for a $699 Tablet PC with 8.9" touchscreen and 1.6GHz Atom processor?

Fujitsu T5010 Tablet PC at jkOnTheRun

HP has announced the availability of their HP Pavilion tx2500z tablet pc.

The tx2500z is based on the AMD Puma mobile platform, and for $1,049 you can get a basic configuration featuring 12.1" 1280x800 pixel touchscreen, windows vista, AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-80 (2.1 GHz) , 2GB RAM, ATI HD3200 graphics, 802.11b/g wifi, 160GB hard drive, and 6 cell battery.

For a more powerful system we would recommend upgrading the processor to 2.4Ghz, the RAM to 4GB, the hard drive to 320GB, the battery to 8 cell, and adding bluetooth for an extra $425.

HP Pavilion tx2500z via ubergizmo

Wouldn't it be great if you could get an ultra-portable the size and power of the EeePC combined with the usability of a touchscreen tablet pc for well under $1000?

Well it looks like that is what Gigabyte will be announcing this week at Computex in the form of the M912 which has just shown up on their website with the following specs:

• 1GB RAM
• 120GB HDD
• 8.9" 1280x768 touchscreen LCD
• Bluetooth
• 802.11b/g WiFi
• 1.3 megapixel camera
• 4400mAh battery (4 hr battery life claimed)

We like the look of this, you get the convenience of a UMPC or tablet PC for simple web browsing, reading books, watching movies etc but can open it up and use the keyboard for more intensive work such as email or blogging.

Lets hope the price is good.

NEC has announced an addition to their ShieldPRO line of rugged laptops.

The ShieldPRO FC-N22A features a 1.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor, a 12.1" screen, integrated GPS, SD card slot, windows XP professional, and (they claim) a 12 hour battery life.

It passed all the standard ruggedness tests such as being dropped 3 feet onto concrete, preventing dust and water from getting inside, and operating in a wide range of temperatures (14 to 122 Fahrenheit).

The two new tablet pcs announced by fujitsu earlier this year are now available for purchase.

The U810 mini laptop is just 1.56lb with a 5.6" LCD and Ultra Low Power 800MHz Intel A110 processor and costs $999.

The T2010 is larger and more powerful with a 12.1" LCD, Intel Core2 Duo 7600 processor, and a $1499 price tag.

Both can be ordered with built-in HSUPA connectivity allowing access to 3G and EDGE/GPRS wireless systems in 145 countries through AT&T, this options costs $200 plus the usual AT&T data plan.

TabletPCReview found out about an unannounced tablet pc shown recently by Fujitsu in Germany. Here's what they know:

"At this point the following specifications are known: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, 13.3" passive digitizer Display, Accessories in the same design.

It looks as though it could be a replacement for the T2010 tablets or maybe we are in luck and Fujitsu has a completely new design. No word on pricing yet either, but we hope more information will start trickling out."
