Izona cooksurface - gas through glass

Izona cooksurface - gas through glass

The Izona CookSurface from Fisher & Paykel is an innovative blending of the beauty of a glass ceramic cooktop with the efficiency and controllability of gas compared to electric cooking.

Turn on the gas and the burner rises up out of the ceramic cooktop along with 5 pan supports, when you're done cooking the burner and supports disappear back into the cooksurface.

The only negative we see is that space isn't used efficiently with the large cooksurface only offering 3 burners.

Sharp's Fat Busting Oven

Sharp fat busting oven

Sharp has created a new type of oven that uses 570 degree fahrenheit superheated steam to melt fat out of food being cooked.

Sharp claims the AX-HC1 Electric Superheated Steam Oven removes 8 times as much fat from a steak than pan frying cutting calories by 13%.

It is only planned to be sold in Japan at the moment, and will cost $1150.

I just hope it doesn't take away the flavor with the fat!
