Canon Prosumer Digital Cameras

Canon Prosumer Digital Cameras

A lot of people think that Canon's prosumer (high-end consumer as opposed to full-time professional photographer) digital cameras are the best around.

Currently you have a choice between the Canon Eos 300D Digital Rebel (for around $900 with 18-55mm lens, $800 without lens) or the Canon Eos-10D (for around $1300). The main differences between them are that the 10D is built more solidly and has more manual configuration options and a slightly better user interface, the 300D however supports a newer type of lens - EF-S.

Now there are rumors of a 20D to be announced in September, current thinking is an 8 megapixel camera that supports EF-S lenses, to be available in November for $1400-$1600.
