Determined to get to the bottom of their macbook air overheating problems engadget took their too hot to trot skinny laptop to an Apple "genius" but he couldn't reproduce the problem.

So, when all else fails create a poll. They asked their readers if they too were having problems and the winning answer with a resounding 73.2% of the vote was......

"I don't have a MacBook Air, thanks for asking"

Of the people who responded that do own a macbook air the majority were having problems with over 2000 people reporting their macbook air "Overheats all the time, really annoying".

Sounds like the problem is real and Apple needs to do something about it.
