Fujitsu launches 320GB 2.5″ encrypted hard drive

fujitsu laptop drive

Fujitsu has added automatic hardware-based encryption to it’s MHZ2 CJ 320GB hard drive.

This hardware based encryption supports the 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and unlike software based encryption (such as Truecrypt) the key does not reside in the computers memory and the encryption does not use an processor power from the laptop.

The new drive will be available at the end of May 2008.
