AT&T's iPhone Black explanation

Yesterday we told you about how the “iPhone black” had shown up on the AT&T site and how someone would probably lose their job for putting that up early.

AT&T predictably went into damage control mode and issued the following explanation: The iPhone black listing was just a temporary placeholder to differentiate the various iPhone models (4GB, 8GB, 16GB) during a scheduled catalog update.

Um, yeah: 3 models (4/8/16GB) differentiated by two iPhone listings (regular/black), and coincidentally the next iPhone is supposed to be black……..

Lamest. Excuse. Ever.
